Happy Birthday Dear
Rebecca! 9 years old! Grandpa and Grandma are so proud of you. We are looking forward to taking a gift to
Eliana Zapata next Monday. We will take
pictures and video for everyone to see then.
Our hearts were sad on
Monday, the 18th, learning that our Emily was in pre-term labor and gave birth to a tiny
little angel girl they named Julie, who returned home to Heavenly Father. But now sweet Rebecca Lynn will get to share
her birthday with this perfect angel cousin forever. That is very special.
On Monday March 25th, we visited the Zapata family. Eliana will be 9 years old on April 19th. Her family invited us to share Family Home Evening with them. Sister Zapata gave a beautiful lesson about the Atonement. For the activity, we gave Rebecca's gift to Eliana.
She was very excited!
Here Grandma is showing Eliana the beautiful card Rebecca made for her. We translated Rebecca's letter into Spanish. Eliana's brother is on the left. His name is Junior. He is 12 years old.
There's brother Zapata, too. They were so happy to have us visit them!
They live in a lovely apartment not too far from us. They are in our ward.
Visiting these sweet families for our grandchildren's birthdays is one of our favorite things on our mission!
Eliana was very happy with her gifts. A journal and some colored pencils. Good choices, Rebecca! Her mom said she writes in her journal every day and she LOVES to draw. She took out all the pencils and looked at them carefully.
She is a beautiful little girl with big brown eyes and a big smile! Grandma was glad to hug her since she couldn't hug Rebecca.
