Happy Birthday Nicole! 10 years old!
Yesterday, Grandpa and Grandma visited Winifer Martinez who is turning 10 years old on January 29th. She and her family live in a little town outside Santiago called Villa Gonzalez. There is a small branch (Rama) there and the people are very friendly. Winifer and her family live in this very small house. They are very humble. Their daddy takes people on his motorcycle (like a taxi) to earn money. They have no electricity.
But the house is filled with lots of love. They were very happy to see us. Winifer was a little shy but she was happy to receive her regalos (gifts.) Because Nicole's favorite things are reading and drawing, we gave her some little books and markers and drawing paper.
Grandma read Nicole's letter to Winifer. We translated it into Spanish for her.
Here's Nicole's cute 4th Grade picture. Winifer was happy to meet her...in a picture!
Winifer has 4 younger sisters, Wanda 7, Walleidy 6, Awilda 4 and Wulcaren 9 months. Her mom has the blue cap on. Her aunt who is 17 and little cousin 1 year's old also live with them. We took them a little plate of brownies and the girls were very excited about that. Grandpa asked if they wanted to eat them and they smiled and said, "Si!"
Here they are on their front porch. A friend in the branch stopped by (probably smelling the brownies!) The girls always have their hair done cute. They are clean and happy!
Thank you Nicole for sharing your birthday with a faraway friend, Winifer Martinez. She may not have many things but she has the love of her family and she knows Heavenly Father loves her.
